My Bio
Lauren Koger has spent the majority of her life thus far focusing on building her knowledge of the world, traveling, and exploring her creativity. At age 14, Lauren started reading books of psychology and world religions. She was fascinated by the combination of spirituality and psychology and how the expression of honesty and imagination could heal human beings. She spent most of her time listening to the complex lyrics of Alanis Morissette, reading books by Thomas Moore and studying world leaders such as Sathya Baba, Ghandi, and Mother Theresa. It was at Her first figure drawing class at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design at the age of 15, where she found her passion for conveying the human body, mind and soul through art. She instantly became a figure artist.

Lauren recently graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Art from The University of Rhode Island. Throughout her academic career she has shined in the arts department, receiving 2 Gold Key awards, 2 Silver Key awards, Best Artist of her graduating class of 2007 at Bishop Feehan High School and a Collegebound scholarship to the college of her choice for her visual art, as well as taken classes at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been shown in New York, Washington, New Hampshire, and throughout Rhode Island. She also contributed in painting a mural in Peru in 2007. In 2008 she started a nonprofit organization called Art Saves People that worked with organizations such as the Invisible Children Org. to host art events in order to raise money for the children of Uganda. The organization resigned in 2009 and Art Saves People then became the Mission Logo Statement for her Psychological Artwork today.

She has been greatly influenced by her travels to Peru, volunteering in orphanages, clinics, and schools, and traveling through Costa Rica to London and Paris. She also encompasses some exceptional struggles endured as a child and as a young adult in much of her work.
